American Venus

American_venus 2007

Director: Bruce Sweeney

this thing just didn't work.  rebecca de mornay plays an overbearing mother who is also her daughter's skating coach.  after a big rowe between them (one of many it would seem), the daughter runs off to canada to get away from her and do things on her own.  de mornay goes after her and then spends pretty much the entire film trying to get her hands on a gun (hers was conviscated at the border), which, the film is trying obviously to play with, is a lot harder to do in canada then in the united states.  i'm not sure if the movie ws trying to be satire or farce or a bit of both, but either way it wasn't very good.
