The Lookout
Monday, June 9, 2008 at 7:10PM Director: Scott Frank
Scott Frank has written some great movies in the past (Out Of Sight, Get Shorty), but The Lookout is his directorial debut (he also wrote the script). The Lookout is a solid film, however it is also very predictable if you have ever seen any of these type of small heist films in the past. if you haven't then this one might stand out more for you, but for me it felt like it was kind of going through the predictable motions and just wasn't as thrilling or exciting as i think it was trying to be. the performances by joseph gordon-levitt and jeff daniels do stand out though. they give strong performances and managed to keep me pretty interested even though i knew early on where the whole thing was going.
