sure, we talk about tv shows on the Watch It podcast and i'll also mention some on the Televisionocity blog, but what about a large graded list of television shows past and present. now we have that also...
obviously, like the Ranking The Movies list, this section is also without nuance. there is no distinction between and among the various grades or reasons why one show got a higher grade than another. And, with tv shows there is even more room for maneuvering. for example:
ya, the final season of Roseanne was weak when compared to the previous seasons, but not enough to keep the show from getting a very well deserved A... Prison Break might have jumped the shark about 50 times over its four seasons, but i didn't mind. the show was nerve racking and fun and a very good for what it was...
then you have shows like Greys Anatomy that started off as a well done guilty pleasure somewhere in the B range, but over the last few seasons has been falling and can now be found with a, possibly generous, C+... The Black Donnellys was a show i really liked, but given they only produced 14 episode it got stuck in the A- grade whereas if it had lasted longer it had potential to be even higher. and what about Alf? i remember really liking that show growing up, but i recently have seen some episodes again and i honestly didn't laugh once. it was really not funny. which explains the D grade. i could go on, but you get the idea...
of course this list is a work in progress as i continue to add shows, new shows come along and even as programs get re-graded as needed
