Hey Jesse and Chrystina-
Wondering if you (or anyone reading this) have any good TV suggestions for me. I've recently finished a rather stressful semester (thanks for the shoutout a few weeks back, Chrystina) and have settled into my summer routine, part of which is my summer job- answering a helpline. If no one calls, I end up with nothing to do for hours on end. I've taken to catching up on TV shows that I've managed to miss over the years. So far I've caught up on all the new Dr. Who (which is great!) and have started on Red Dwarf and The Prisoner. The catch is that I share an office with three of my bosses, so this effects what I can watch. For example, I tried Torchwood, but turned that off in the first seconds of the second episode and I'd love to finally see The Wire, but I'm doubtful that it's safe for work. Does anyone have any suggestions of good, (relatively) clean, serial TV available on DVD? Thanks!
Kate
well kate, let us see what we can do for ya..
- The West Wing
- Babylon 5 (throwin a little sci-fi nerdyness in there for ya, on the off chance you haven't seen it)
- six feet under (on the off chance you never watched it all)
- 24 (violent, but clean otherwise)
- whose line is it anyway? (USA version) - again on the off chance you never saw them all
- how about going old school like la law, hill st blues and st elsewhere... i was gonna say nypd blue (one of my all time favorites) but wasn't sure if it passes the "relatively" clean test... same with homicide: life on the street and the larry sanders show (again, could be iffy on the "relatively" clean)
- ez streets ( i know there are only like 6 episodes before it got canceled, but it is one of the greatest things i have ever seen on tv)
- rome
- friday night lights
- boston legal
- mad men
- life (canceled now, but had 2 really good seasons)
that's all i got off the top of my head, but probably have some more to mention on the next podcast :)
hope that helps a little
Hey Jesse and Chrystina-
"Relatively clean" means no nudity and little sex. Also, no torture, so 24's out. My monitor faces my bosses desks, so... I've seen The West Wing, B5, and Life, Six Feet Under doesn't sound appropriate, and I'd rather go for hour-longs, so I'll probably skip Who's Line (I've seen a lot of it anyways), but that leaves plenty. I'm almost done with season 8 of Red Dwarf (the final one) and about half way through The Prisoner. After that, I think I'll finally finish up Freaks and Geeks (my roommate moved and took his copy with him before I finished it) then move on to FNL. Thanks for all the suggestions!
Kate
